The microhome answers with three moves. Refuge and Sustenance raises the living and sleeping modules to the first floor and opens the ground floor as a workspace connected to the street, so residents practise their professions inside the camp. Strength in Numbers clusters units so professionals share amenities and support each other, while Local Consciousness mounts walls and roofs of regional materials, mud cladding in Kenya, bamboo in Bangladesh, on a demountable steel frame that moves when its residents do.
